LUMENKORN
Privacy Policy
Lumenkorn develops photographs on your iPhone. It has no account, no analytics and no advertising, and it makes no network connections of its own — nothing you photograph is sent anywhere by this app. The privacy link inside the app opens this page in your browser.
Photographs and edits
Every shot keeps its undeveloped negative in the app's own storage, together with its capture settings and any edits, so you can develop it again on another film later. Developed photographs are saved to Apple Photos with your permission.
You can delete a single negative in the darkroom, or clear the whole roll from the app's back panel, which also shows what it currently holds. The app never deletes a negative on its own. Deleting one does not remove photographs you have already saved to Apple Photos or sent to another app.
The negatives, their edits and the retained originals are excluded from device and iCloud backups: they live on this iPhone only. Your settings, and the edits you make to photographs from your library, are small and are included in a normal backup. Apple Photos may synchronise saved photographs through iCloud, and opening a photo stored in iCloud can download it; those are Apple's services and follow your device settings.
Location and permissions
If you allow location access, the place a photograph was taken is written into its EXIF metadata on your device, as any camera does, and can travel with the picture when you save or share it. Camera, photo-library and location access are managed in iOS Settings; the app has no separate location switch.
Sharing and removal
When you share, the picture or video you chose is handed to the destination you pick, and that destination's privacy practices apply. Removing Lumenkorn deletes its local storage, including every negative it holds; photographs already saved to Apple Photos stay in Photos. Save anything you want to keep before removing the app.
This website
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, which processes your IP address and browser data to deliver the page and keep it secure (Cloudflare acts as our processor; transfers to the US rest on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework). The website sets no cookies and uses no analytics or advertising.
If you write to us, we use your email address and message only to answer you, and delete them once the conversation is finished (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR).
Your rights
The app sends us nothing, so we hold no data about the people who use it. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. You may also complain to a data protection authority — for us that is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.
